Peaceville International Academy, on Saturday thirtieth on September, 2023, celebrated the Nigeria’s Independence Day anniversary in a bright and colourful event that saw the students display their skills and talents in music, dance, drama, spoken words, and instrumentals. The parents that graced the occasion with their presence were so entertained, elated and enthused by the spectacular and outstanding performance of their children in this event which also doubled as a visiting day. The brilliant performance of these learners in this event attested to the indisputable fact that PIA is a school to be in for all children and above all else, it is a citadel of learning where intelligent and godly leaders are reared and groomed.

Today we gather here, not just as a school community, but as citizens of our beloved nation Nigeria to celebrate the spirit of independence that has defined our history and continues to shape our future. As the head of Peaceville International Academy, it is an immense honor for me to stand before you on this special occasion.

Independence Day is not merely a date on the calendar, it is a day of reflection, gratitude and renewed commitment to the ideals that that have guided our nation’s journey. Let us remember and pay respect to the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives to secure the freedom that we enjoy today. Their courage, determination and unwavering love for our country laid the foundation upon which we stand today. It is our duty to ensure that …

As we celebrate Nigeria this Independence Day, let us remember that values of unity, diversity and tolerance are the cornerstones of our nation’s strength. Teach these values to your children for they are the ones who will carry them forward into the future

Independence Day is not just about hoisting flags, singing anthems or enjoying festivities, it is a day to reflect on the progress we have made as a nation and to recognise the challenges that lie ahead. It is a day to renew our commitment to democracy, justice and equality for all.

In conclusion, let us celebrate this Independence Day with pride and enthusiasm, but also, with a deep sense of responsibility. Let us work together to build a nation where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive, where diversity is celebrated and where the flame of freedom burns brighter with each passing year.
