Skills Builder Partnership Global – Global Impact Report 2025

As Nigeria evolves into a modern economy, a gap has emerged between the skills of graduates and employer expectations. This has led to a consensus among policymakers, educators, and employers that traditional skill acquisition methods are inadequate. The 2025 National Policy on Skills Development mandates the systematic teaching of essential skills—like critical thinking, teamwork, and communication—at all educational levels, aiming to prepare young people for the modern workforce.

Concinnity has become the Lead Partner for Skills Builder in Nigeria, aligning the efforts of key educational and governmental bodies around the need for essential skills instruction. A significant achievement was its advisory role in shaping the 2025 National Policy, emphasizing the integration of soft skills in education.

The Universal Framework has been implemented in six schools and ten impact organizations, effectively enhancing skill development. The Global Accelerator programme has also reached over 300 students in ten schools. Feedback indicates that teachers feel more confident in teaching essential skills, while students are better able to apply these skills in real-world situations.

Five schools received Bronze Awards, and one achieved a Silver Award for their commitment to the Universal Framework, inspiring other institutions to adopt similar initiatives and contribute to a more skilled workforce in Nigeria.
